URGENT!!! Sudden API 400 Error (Error while downloading from URL)

Hi there, your API is suddenly encoding URL parameters making the URL invalid.
For example, & is replaced by \u0026.

It was working perfectly before.

Please fix ASAP.

The API does not encode parameters in any way.

In fact, the only code is server side that decodes the encoded params.

There also have been no code changes to our URL handling behavior in some time.

The URL in question also works just fine in our Analyze app, which is just JavaScript interacting with our API directly.

The issue has to be in your code somewhere.

Hi,

My code was working before, and I haven’t changed anything on my side. If nothing has changed on your end either, the issue is probably related to how Facebook generates hashes. As soon as something in the URL changes, it stops working.

I only use your API directly, without any frontend or analyze app, so the analyze app doesn’t help me. When I checked the network requests from the analyze app, I saw that they also return an error (screenshot attached).

If you could allow the URL to be sent without encoding it, I think that would solve the problem.

Just so it's documented, this was a change on the OpenAI side, they are now encoding the URL's incorrectly in some cases. We just pass them the raw URL, and the error was due to a change they pushed.

For now I would just use another AI backend for these particular URL's.
