Heads up for anyone using Clarifai through Visionati.
Clarifai is winding down. The company is joining Nebius, and they have told developers that all Clarifai services go offline on July 13, 2026. We use Clarifai as one of our detection backends for tags, moderation, and object detection, so we are retiring it from Visionati ahead of that date.
Good news: most of you do not need to do anything.
Clarifai, Google Vision, and Amazon Rekognition are all on by default. If you use the default Detection Backends, you are already getting Amazon Rekognition and Google Vision results. Dropping Clarifai just removes one overlapping source, and your tags and detection keep working.
If you specifically selected Clarifai as your detection backend, switch it before July 13.
Amazon Rekognition is the closest match for what Clarifai handled: labels and tags, content moderation (NSFW), and face and object detection. It is already one of our default detection backends, so it is well proven inside Visionati.
How to switch:
- In your account, open your Detection Backends settings and change Clarifai to Rekognition.
- If you call the API directly, change the
backend value from clarifai to rekognition.
After July 13, Clarifai will no longer be available as a backend, so make the change before then to avoid any gap in your tags or detection.
